Abstract
The report presents results from surveying the existing Federal, State, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations governing the abatement and control of environmental noise. This basic assignment was divided into four sub-tasks: Current governmental noise regulatory schemes; analysis of existing legal regulatory structure for noise abatement and control; the effectiveness of existing noise control regulation; proposals and problems in the regulation and abatement of noise.
