A field investigation of the dispersion of a conservative tracer was made in a fresh water reservoir in which the predominant currents are generated by the wind. The purpose of the investigation was to examine the current velocity distribution with depth, the rate of dilution and the dispersion coefficients for correlation with such parameters as the surface current velocity and the wave conditions. Tests were conducted at three sites of very different geometric characteristics in Lake Travis near Austin, TX.
