Abstract |
Fenarimol (CAS No. 60168-88-9) was evaluated for reproductive toxicity. The test material was administered in an oral gavage dose of 35 mg/kg to Wistar and Sprague Dawley male and female rats (number of rats in groups were not specified) for 28 days prior to mating and for 7 days during the mating period. The females were dosed through postpartum day 20. For each strain of rats the groups consisted of: untreated males mated with untreated females; untreated males mated with treated females; and treated males mated with untreated females. In both strains fertility was reduced when males were treated, and treatment of the females was associated with evidence of dystocia and impairment of the parturition process resulting in a reduction both in liveborn litter size and in early and postpartum survival of the progeny. This summary was briefly summarized. No further information was reported. |
