Abstract | N(2,3- epoxypropyl)phthalimide was assessed for acute toxicity. Summary information indicates the dermal LD50 for rabbits was 4.7 g/kg, it was slightly irritating to rabbit skin, moderately irritating to the rabbit eye, and did not induce hypersensitivity in the guinea pig. It was mutagenic in Chinese hamster ovary cells and active in the Ames test. The test material increased the frequency of viral transformation of Syrian hamster embryo cells, but did not produce increases in mutant frequency in the host-mediated assay. No further information was provided regarding experimental procedure or results. |
