Abstract | The study area is growing rapidly in population, urban development, and industrial expansion. The physical characteristics of the land base and type of farming areas (mountain, Limestone Valley, Piedmont Plateau, Upper Coastal Plains, Black belt, and Lower Coastal Plains) are discussed. Also discussed are the use of land resources for crops (row crops, forage crops and fruits, vegetables and ornamental crops) and livestock (dairy, beef cattle, swine, and poultry) and forestry. |
