Abstract | A group of four male albino rabbits received 7 inunctions of Silicone A-187 over a period of 17 calendar days. The dosage level was 1.0 ml/kg. A shared control group was inuncted with 2.0 ml/kg of distilled water and served as the control for dosages of both 1 and 2 ml/kg. The dosed group was statistically equivalent to the control group in all criteria of stress examined, namely: mortality, body weight change, liver and kidney weight per se and as percentage of body weight. Therefore, the no ill-effect level for a 7-day inunction of Silicone A-187 on rabbits is greater than 1.0 ml/kg/inunction. |
