Abstract
On May 7, 2010, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) issued a joint Final Rule to establish the first phase of a National Program with new standards for 2012 to 2016 model year light-duty vehicles that reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and improve fuel economy. These standards apply to passenger cars, light-duty trucks, and medium-duty passenger vehicles. Subsequently, on October 15, 2012, EPA and NHTSA issued standards for GHG emissions and fuel economy of light-duty vehicles for model years 2017-2025, building on the first phase of the joint National Program. EPA is releasing this report as part of our continuing commitment to provide the public with transparent and timely information about manufacturers' compliance with the GHG program. This report supersedes previous reports and details manufacturers' performance towards meeting GHG standards in the 2014 model year, the third year of the GHG standards which become increasingly stringent in each model year from 2012 through 2025. Some values from previous model years may have changed based on changes or corrections to the historical data. This report is also a reference for users of the GHG credits data, which we are making available in formats appropriate for importing into spreadsheets or database applications.
