Abstract |
During 1973, the agency received an increasing number of dog poisoning reports implicating metaldehyde snail and slug baits. The magnitude of the problem during the past year and the potential hazard of excessive attractiveness to dogs in general necessitates action. Precautionary statements must be added to the front panel of the product label. All companies manufacturing and marketing metalhyde snail and slug baits in pellet and/or meal form (alone or in combination with another active ingredient) must submit a dog palatability study on the bait formulation. |
