Abstract |
The conference concerning the matter of pollution of interstate waters of the Missouri River in the Kansas City Metropolitan area, involving the States of Kansas and Missouri, was held under the provisions of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act and, in accordance with the terms of that Act, was called by the Surgeon General of the Public Health Service. The purpose of the conference was to bring together the State Water Pollution Control Agencies, the localities concerned and industries and the Public Health Service to review the existing situation, the progress which has been made, and to lay a basis for future action by all parties concerned and to give the states and localities an opportunity to take any remedial action which may be indicated under state and local law. |
