Abstract | The effects of DDT stress and ascorbic acid deficiency on various mixed function oxidases, enzymes of the glucuronic acid system, and the metabolism of 14C-gamma HCH and 36Cl-DDT were studied in the squirrel monkey. Daily by mouth injections of 5 mg DDT for a 2-wk period produced significant increases in liver weight, microsomal protein cytochrome P-450, and the in vitro activity of various mixed function oxidases. |
