Abstract | Pennwalt Corporation, Phillips Chemical Company (a Division of Phillips Petroleum), and NGO Chemical (a Division of Helmerich & Payne, Inc.) manufacture t-butyl mercaptan (TBM) and are the sponsors of a TBM 90-day inhalation toxicity study in rats. The study is being conducted by International Research and Development Corporation (IRDC) of Mattawan, MI. Pennwalt, Phillips and NGO wish to provide this interim report on what we believe may be an aggravation of pre-existing disease by TBM in the lungs and kidneys of rats. |
