Abstract |
Many manufacturers are looking for in-plant technologies which could reduce or eliminate hazardous waste generation. Many plants, though, do not have the technical expertise nor access to current waste management technologies with which to solve their waste management problems. The objective of the study, then, was to provide technical assistance to selected manufacturing firms on in-plant waste management options which they could employ and from that experience to provide advice on how to assist industrial plants in securing technical assistance. The assistance in the project included an evaluation of specific firm's manufacturing processes and current waste management practices in order to identify waste management options for reducing or eliminating the generation of hazardous waste. Following the study and report, a follow-up visit was conducted. |
