Abstract |
This research program was initiated with the overall objective of reviewing published and unpublished information on recent and on-going research and development on pesticide disposal or conversion methods. The methods were categorized according to four approaches: incineration; physical/chemical treatment; biological methods; and land disposal. The information was evaluated in terms of the technical data base, economic cost and environmental impacts, and potential for disposal of finished formulations by consumers and for large-scale disposal. Several present and future 'problematic' pesticides were identified. Future research needs were also identified. |
