Abstract
Sanitary solid waste disposal is basic to community sanitation. Incineration is a method of solid waste disposal which is particularly applicable to cities and metropolitan areas where available land for sanitary landfilling is depleted or not available. With the trend toward expanding urban areas and metropolitan complexes, incineration may well play an increasingly important part in solving community solid waste disposal problems. Thus this study was undertaken to collect data on current engineering practice in this field to permit better evaluation of engineering and related needs.
