Abstract | This study examines the feasibility of using incineration with heat recovery as an alternate approach for managing hazardous wastes. Industrial wastes from the following eight major industries are discussed: organic chemicals, plastics, pharmaceuticals, petroleum refining, tires and inner tubes, fabricated rubber products, paints, and solvent reclaiming. The study addresses the theme of whether the value of recovered energy is sufficient to justify incineration with heat recovery, both from a technical and a cost basis. |
