Abstract |
The manual was prepared for the training program in Nuclear Medicine Technology at the University of Cincinnati. The program in which this manual is used leads to the Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology with a Nuclear Medicine option. This manual is used in teaching nuclear physics and instrumentation, radionuclide measurements, radiation protection, and tracer methodology and radiopharmaceuticals. It is offered as an addition to the exiguous literature presently available to those who wish to train Nuclear Medical Technologists. Since college level courses in anatomy and physiology, chemistry, physics, and basic mathematics are prerequisite to the internship in which this manual is used, the fundamentals of these sciences are not included except for the mathematics review in the appendix. |
