Abstract
The decision document presents the selected remedial action for the second operable unit of the SMS Instruments, Inc. site (Site). This operable unit represents the second and last operable unit planned for this Site. This second operable unit addresses the potential upgradient groundwater contamination at the Site. The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in consultation with the State of New York has determined that there is no evidence of contamination upgradient of the Site contributing to the contamination at the Site; therefore, remediation for the second operable unit is not appropriate.
