Abstract
The data contained herein have been summarized from the final report of the investigation entitled 'Surface Impoundments and Their Effects on Ground-Water Quality in the United States - A Preliminary Survey.' The investigation was designed to provide broad background information on the use of municipal, industrial, and agricultural surface impoundments in the United States, with particular reference to the potential threats they may pose to the quality of underground drinking water resources and to methods of controlling or abating such threats.
