Abstract
The report documents the development and evaluation of a new area source algorithm for the ISCLT2 model, based on the numerical integration algorithm recently developed for the ISC2 Short Term (ISCST2) model. The evaluation of the performance of the new ISCLT2 area source algorithm includes performance tests, statistical analyses, and sensitivity analyses. The technical description of the new ISCLT2 area source algorithm is provided in Section 2. The results of the performance tests are presented in Section 3, and the results of the sensitivity analyses involving comparisons with the virtual point source algorithm are given in Section 4. The conclusions of the study are presented in Section 5.
