This document presents the EPA's decision regarding the reregistration eligibility of the registered uses of imazapyr. The Agency has determined that imazapyr-containing products are eligible for reregistration, provided that the risk mitigation measures identified in this document are adopted and label amendments are made to reflect these measures. Imazapyr is a systemic, non-selective herbicide used for the pre- and post-emergence control of a broad range of terrestrial and aquatic weeds. There are currently twenty-four tolerances established in 40 CFR [sec]180.500 for residues of the herbicide imazapyr, applied as the acid or ammonium salt which were reassessed in 2003 when new food uses were established. The Agency has conducted human health and environmental fate and ecological effect risk assessments for imazapyr and reassessed all the existing tolerances. |
