Abstract | The TLm (median threshold limits) for TEL in bluegills is 2.0 mg/1 for 24 hours, 1.4 mg/1 for 48 hours, and 0.2 mg/1 for 96 hours (Verschueren, Handbook of Environmental Data on Organic Chemicals, 1977, Van Nostrand Reinhold Company, NY). Thus TEL is considered moderately to highly toxic in bluegills. On the basis of this supporting data, the results of the bioconcentration study in oysters fulfill the criteria for reportable Section 8 (e) information and should have been submitted as such. |
