Abstract | In June 1974, the National Ecological Research Laboratory initiated a field program in southeastern Montana. The purpose of the program is to assess the effects of a coal-fired power plant on the terrestrial environment. Numerous investigators have worked together on this project to establish a baseline investigation to characterize the environment around the plant prior to operation. The report is a summary of activities from June through October, 1974. The overall objectives, rationale, and design of the project are outlined. |
