"Salmon on the backs of buffalo documents the struggle of four Native American Tribes on the Klamath River of northern California and southern Oregon. From the boardrooms of Scotland to the remote wilderness of northern California this film follows the fight of Tribes and their allies to 'bring the salmon home.' Several dams block over 350 miles of salmon spawning habitat resulting in a dramatic decline in salmon and other fish species. At risk is not only a fishery, but also the physical health, the spiritual well-being and cultural survival of the Klamath Basin's original inhabitants."--Container. |
