Abstract |
Feasibility of detoxifying dilute cyanide plating wastes by electrooxidation was studied. Because of the toxicity of cyanide to aquatic and animal life and its detrimental effect on the operation of sewage treatment plants, in-plant treatment of dilute cyanide wastes is essential. An electrochemical demonstration unit was developed for the treatment of dilute cyanide plating wastes. The cyanide and plating metal concentrations can be reduced to less than 1 ppm. |
