Abstract | Exposure to chemicals which contaminate soils or are buried in land disposal facilities can occur through more than one route. In estimating the magnitude of human intake rates or cleanup levels for contaminated or spill sites, multimedia exposures should be considered. A procedure for estimating simultaneous exposures related to multimedia pathways, including inhalation of vapors, ingestion of contaminated soil, and dermal contact has been developed. |
