Abstract | The report presents a summary of a Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, North Carolina air pollution emission inventory. The survey provides estimates of the present magnitude, extent and sources of air pollutant emissions and the status of their control. The following pollutants are considered: sulfur oxides, particulates, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides. A grid coordinate system was used to show the geographical distributions of emissions within counties. All sources of emissions were classified into five categories: transportation, stationary fuel combustion, solid waste disposal, industrial processes and evaporative losses. (Author) |
