Abstract | Three treatment processes were evaluated for removing nitrate from public water supplies: Reverse osmosis (RO), ion exchange, and a combination of the two. Both laboratory and field equipment were used to establish design criteria and operating experience useful for designing full-scale plants of approximately 3,800 cu m/day (1-mgd) capacity. The study is concerned with both engineering and scientific aspects. |
