Abstract |
In connection with the use of 'Mylar' polyester-film in food packaging there has been some concern over the toxicity of the small amount of terephthalic acid (TPA) which might be extracted by the food and ingested. Tests have been carried out at the Haskell Laboratory in which terephthalic acid and 'Mylar' ethylene glycol-terephthalic acid polymeric resin have been fed to male and female albino rats over a ninety-day period. |
