Abstract |
An intercomparison study was conducted to evaluate the OH rate constant measurement protocol developed by researchers at the University of California at Riverside. Researchers used the protocol to measure the room temperature OH rate constants for ethane, benzene, chlorobenzene, and sec-butanol. The room temperature OH rate constants determined by NSI-ES and UNC were in good agreement and also, with the exception of the previously unreported rate constant for sec-butanol, agreed with the literature values. Agreement was found using both methods of analysis. The rate constants for ethane, benzene, and chlorobenzene obtained by RTI using the time-excluded method also agreed with the literature values; however, when the same data were analyzed using the time-included method, no such agreement was found. It was not possible to identify the source of the discrepancy. |
