Abstract |
The chapter highlights the roles of AM's, polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN), and epithelial cells and their products (primarily eicosanoids and cytokines) in the inflammatory cascade, comparing animal to human data and in vivo and in vitro data. The relationship of the inflammatory response induced by ozone to that induced by other inhaled environmental materials is discussed. |
