Abstract |
The Industrial Fuel Choice Analysis Model (IFCAM) is an energy demand model developed to evaluate fuel choice decisions in the industrial sector over a five to 15 year forecasting horizon. IFCAM, a highly disaggregated process engineering model is a comprehensive analytical tool that can help decision makers in both the public and private sectors assess a range of energy, environmental, and cost impacts resulting from policy alternatives. Specifically, IFCAM can help evaluate fuel choice alternatives in the industrial sector. The basic assumption in the model's analytical approach is that fuel choice decisions are made by selecting the fuel alternative with the lowest expected life cycle costs. |
