Abstract |
The concentrations of total suspended particles (TSP) in the air of a constricted mountain valley system have been simulated with a 820-box, 2-layer model that accounts for systematic and random winds with boundary conditions appropriate to the complex valley contours. Three-day episodes were computed with the actual winds of February 10-12, 1985, with base-case and projected emissions. Resulting estimates of TSP-concentration fields are presented as functions of time and space, for highest 24-hour averages and for highest 6-min episodes. Comparisons are presented between observations and simulations. |
