Abstract | Section 402(p)(5) of the Clean Water Act (CWA) requires the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in consultation with the States, to conduct a study to: identify those storm water discharges or classes of storm water discharges for which National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits are not required under Phase I of the NPDES storm water program; determine, to the maximum extent practicable, the nature and extent of pollutants in such discharges; and establish procedures and methods to control storm water discharges to the extent necessary to mitigate impacts on water quality. The report presents the results of the study conducted in response to Section 402(p)(5)(A) and (B) of the CWA. |
