Abstract | The publication presents examples, using individual case histories, of what has been achieved over the past decade in the nationwide effort to reduce the adverse effects of pollution. It is a brief look at some specific environmental accomplishments. It is an effort to show that there is hope for a stressed and threatened environment--and to show that while science and technology do not yet have all the answers, workable pollution controls are available and can make a significant difference when they are applied. |
