Abstract | In this code, the environmental concerns associated with water, air, and solid waste steam electric power plants are discussed and a three-phase approach by site selection teams is suggested to minimize environmental hazards. Criteria for site selection are presented that will minimize the detrimental environmental effects of once-through cooling water systems, wastewaters discharged to surface waters and groundwaters, solid waste disposal sites, and atmospheric emissions. |
