Abstract |
This document provides guidance to the primacy agencies and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA's) regional offices in their implementation of the State Drinking Water Act's (SDWA) 1996 amendments to the definition of a public water system section. This document incorporates and replaces the preliminary guidance on this topic issued December 6, 1996, by Assistant Administrator for Water Robert Periasepe entitled 'Safe Drinking Water Act Amendment to Public Water System Definition.' It is a collaborative effort between the Office of Water and the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA). OECA has concurred with the contents of this document and will incorporate and implement it through their enforcement and compliance assurance directives and operating protocols. |
