Abstract | This compound is at most only slightly toxic in rats having a LD50 both orally and intraperitoneally of >3200 mg/kg. In mice the oral LD50 is >3200 while the intraperitoneal LD50 is1600 mg/kg, When held in content with depilated skin of guinea pigs, it proved to be a slight skin irritant, and there was no definite evidence of toxic effects caused by skin application. Several crystals dropped into the conjunctival sac of a rabbit's eye caused only slight irritation and no corneal damage. The material is not a sensitizer in guinea pigs. |
