Abstract |
This letter transmits preliminary results of acute toxicity test indicating neurotoxic effects to male and female mice for Cl2-14-tert-alkyl amines (CAS no. 68955-53-3). Three groups of 6 male and female mice received a single oral dose (gavage) Cl2-14-tert- alkyl amines in corn oil at 250, 500, and 1000 mg/kg body weight. Clinical signs of neurotoxicity (tremors, straub tail) were observed in female mice at 250 mg/kg and above and in male mice at 500 mg/kg and above. These signs were evident beginning 1 hour post-dosing and were no longer evident in surviving mice by day 1 post-dosing. Hyperactivity was also observed in a single female mouse at 500 mg/kg on day 1 only. |
