Abstract |
This document has been prepared in seven sections, organized in a manner to facilitate analysis of the various facets of the environmental review. The initial section includes a broad overview of the industry intended to familiarize the audience with the processes, trends, impacts and applicable pollution regulations commonly encountered in the leather tanning and finishing industry. Succeeding sections provide a comprehensive identification and analysis of potential environmental impacts, pollution control technologies available to meet federal standards, and siting and process alternatives. The document concludes with three sections: a listing of federal regulations (other than pollution control) which may apply to the new source applicant, a glossary of terms pertaining to the leather tanning and finishing industry, and a comprehensive listing of references for further reading. |
