Abstract |
The radiological hazard in Air Force water supplies contaminated by fallout were evaluated, and design criteria for protective devices were examined. A review of classified and unclassified literature was made to obtain present thinking and knowledge about maximum permissible concentrations in water under emergency conditions and the nature and behavior of fallout in surface waters. Where gaps existed in information, field and laboratory studies were made so that subsequent design and cost evaluation of various treatment devices would be meaningful. |
