Abstract |
A SIM mass spectrometric analysis using the Hewlett-Packard mass selective detector as a GC detector generally gave quantitative results for specific trace-level compounds even in the presence of a very complex and/or highly concentrated mixture of contaminants. In some cases, such as in the detection of allyl chloride, the problem of quantitation could perhaps be solved by suitable alteration of the system software. In other cases, further study is required to determine appropriate remedial measures. |
