Abstract | CORMIX1 deals with submerged, single port discharges of aqueous and conventional pollutants into rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters, as well as the limiting case of stagnant water bodies, such as lakes or reservoirs. In several applications, the expert system has produced results as accurate as mathematically more complex models. The system is currently being extended to include stratified receiving waters, negatively buoyant discharges, and the effect of bottom attachment of the discharge plume. |
