Abstract |
The objective of Tier 4 of the National Dioxin Study is to determine if combustion devices are significant sources of dioxin emissions. This project plan describes the quality assurance and quality control activities associated with emission tests to be conducted at twelve (12) sites. The tests will involve determination of dioxin concentrations and mass flow rates at the outlet of the combustion device and/or any air pollution control equipment. Flue gas combustion parameters (CO, CO2, O2, SO2, NOx, and total Hydrocarbons) will be monitored and samples for dioxin precursor analysis will be collected. Equipment calibration, sample custody, data reduction, and reporting requirements are discussed. |
