Abstract |
Through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program, each state and Puerto Rico maintain revolving loan funds to provide independent, permanent sources of low-cost financing for a wide range of water quality infrastructure projects. The federal government provides funds to establish or capitalize the CWSRF programs with twenty percent state matching funds. After more than a decade of operation and over $40 billion in funded projects, the CWSRF program is viewed as one of the nation's most successful environmental infrastructure funding programs. This brochure answers the most frequently asked questions about the CWSRF program's ability to fund nonpoint source and estuary protection projects. Examples from across the country demonstrate the program's potential for funding an array of water quality activities. |
