Abstract | Currently, about 60 U.S. and Canadian chemical pulp mills use about 28,000 metric tpy of hydrogen peroxide. Assuming an average peroxide application rate of 0.25 wt % on pulp indicates that more than 11 million metric tons of pulp are bleached annually using peroxide. The article reviews some of the current trends and applications of hydrogen peroxide in the bleaching of chemical pulp. |
