Abstract | The earthy-musty odor complex induced by Streptomyces odorifer has been studied. The major aroma inducing constituents have been identified as 2-exo-hydroxy-2-methylbornane, trans-1, 10-dimethyl-trans-decalol, and cadin-4-ene-1-ol. The identifications were based on gas chromatographic and thin-layer chromatographic procedures as well as infrared and mass spectrometry. (Author) |
