Abstract |
A statistical optimization method was developed for the systems analysis of the project on a sewage treatment effluent oxidation ditch. The results of the analysis are presented as three separate papers in the Appendix. Chlorination studies on batch samples in the laboratory were made. Biochemical oxygen demand reaction rate constants of 0.131 per day for raw wastewater and 0.078 per day for final effluent were obtained. Samples of raw wastewater, final effluent, mixed liquor, return sludge, and stream water were routinely analyzed two or three times weekly. Averages and ranges of values for the various laboratory analyses are presented. (Author) |
