Abstract |
The effects of bed slope, relative thickness of a gravel layer, and relative size of gravel on a dimensionless velocity profile were determined. By study and comparison of the several profiles acquired, it was shown that the gravel layer was effective in shifting the zone of relatively high velocity gradient away from the absolute channel bottom. Also, an increase in relative size of gravel significantly increased the relative velocity within the gravel layer. (Author) |
