Abstract |
A survey of waste disposal sites contaminated with polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDDs/PCDFs) was conducted as a contribution to the Pilot Study on International Information Exchange on Dioxins and Related Compounds. The report discusses environmental contamination problems arising from the disposal of wastes from a variety of industrial processes, including residues from pesticide/herbicide production, fly ash from incinerators, and other chlorophenol wastes. The study describes case studies from the Federal Republic of Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands; however, the data are relatively limited. |
