Abstract | Estimates are presented of the five primary air pollutants; carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur oxides (SOx), particulates, hydrocarbons (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Emission trends from 1966 through 1968 are included as well as motor vehicle emissions projected to 1990. Information is presented on nationwide emissions given by source category and location (urban and non-urban). Presented also are the methodology and basic data used to make the emission estimates, such as fuel usage, vehicle miles of travel, and solid waste disposal methods. (Author) |
